Body Control Module (BCM)

CAUTION: BCM Brown 24-pin connector C1 contains power and ground sources. When removing BCM, always disconnect connector C1 first before disconnecting connectors C2 and C3. When installing BCM, always reconnect connectors C2 and C3, then connector C1 last.
WARNING: If Passlock(R) sensor, BCM or PCM are replaced, program new module, then perform passlock learn procedure. See PASSLOCK(tm) AUTO LEARN PROCEDURE  .
NOTE: To program BCM, a Techline Terminal is required.
  1. Connect scan tool. Select SERVICE PROGRAMMING from main menu. After entering vehicle information, choose REQUEST INFO soft key on scan tool. Disconnect scan tool from vehicle.
  2. Connect scan tool to Techline Terminal. Select SERVICE PROGRAMMING SYSTEM. Select TERMINAL TO SCAN TOOL PROGRAMMING method. Select DONE. Follow instructions on communications setup screen.
  3. Select PROGRAM BODY FUNCTION CONTROLLER. Select PROGRAM at SUMMARY screen. Techline Terminal will download information to scan tool. Disconnect scan tool from Techline Terminal.
  4. Connect scan tool to vehicle. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Select SERVICE PROGRAMMING from MAIN MENU. Follow prompts on vehicle year and type. Press BODY FUNCTION CONTROLLER soft key on scan tool. BCM will be programmed with configuration file stored in scan tool.
  5. Program theft deterrent system, BCM and PCM using Techline equipment. Follow techline instructions. Verify BCM is operating properly. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SYSTEM TESTS.
