Exhaust System Inspection
- Inspect the following areas for cracks, stripped bolt heads, and rusted bolt threads:
- Exhaust pipes
- Seals
- Three-way catalytic converters
- Tail pipes
- Inspect the exhaust system for the following conditions:
- Broken welds
- Corrosion that would cause a leak
- Cracked joints
- Inspect the following components:
- Clamps
- Brackets
- Insulators
- The exhaust system, including the heat shields, must be free of the following conditions:
- Leaks
- Binding
- Grounding
- Excessive vibration
- If any of these conditions exist, check the exhaust system component alignment. Align as necessary. Replace as necessary.
