Removal Procedure

IMPORTANT: An 8 digit part identification number is stamped on the bottom of the throttle body casting. Refer to this number if servicing or part replacement is required.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.

  3. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement .
  4. Remove the air cleaner adapter stud.

  6. Disconnect the cruise control cable from the throttle body. Refer to Cruise Control Cable Replacement (LU3) in Cruise Control.

  8. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle body. Refer to Accelerator Controls Cable Replacement .

  10. Remove the nuts retaining the accelerator cable routing bracket.
  11. Position the bracket aside.
  12. Remove the stud and nuts retaining the accelerator control cable bracket.
  13. Position the bracket aside.

  15. Disconnect the idle air control (IAC) valve harness connector.

  17. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor harness connector.

  19. Remove the throttle body retaining studs.

  21. Remove the throttle body assembly.
  22. Discard the throttle body seal.
