Installation Procedure

- Install a new fuel strainer (2) in the same position as noted during disassembly. Push the strainer on the bottom of the fuel sender until the strainer is fully seated.
- Install the fuel sender assembly. Refer to Fuel Sender Assembly Replacement (Utility/Crew Cab) .
- Install the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement (2-Door Utility) or Fuel Tank Replacement (4-Door Utility) .
- Refill the fuel tank.
- Install the fuel filler cap.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Inspect for leaks.
- Turn ON the ignition for 2 seconds.
- Turn OFF the ignition for 10 seconds.
- Turn ON the ignition.
- Inspect for fuel leaks.
