Removal Procedure
WARNING:
Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning
CAUTION:
Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution
CAUTION:
Always connect or disconnect the wiring harness connector from the EBCM/EBTCM with the ignition switch in the OFF position. Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the EBCM/EBTCM.
- Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
- Without draining the engine coolant and without disconnecting the hoses, remove and position aside the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LGX with V08)Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LCV)
- Remove Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Master Cylinder Reservoir Front Pipe. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Master Cylinder Reservoir Front Pipe Replacement
- Remove Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Master Cylinder Reservoir Rear Pipe. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Master Cylinder Reservoir Rear Pipe Replacement
- Thoroughly clean the electronic brake control module (EBCM) to brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) area of any accumulated dirt and debris.
- Disconnect the EBCM electrical connector.
- Disconnect Left Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1)
- Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Disconnect Right Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1)
- Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Disconnect Right Rear Brake Pipe Fitting (1)
- Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Disconnect Left Rear Brake Pipe Fitting (1)
- Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Remove Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Bolt (1)
- Remove Electronic Brake Control Module with Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Assembly (1)
- Remove Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module Bracket. Refer to Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module Bracket Replacement
