Removal Procedure
WARNING:
CAUTION:
Always connect or disconnect the wiring harness connector from the EBCM/EBTCM with the ignition switch in the OFF position. Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the EBCM/EBTCM.
- Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
- Without draining the engine coolant and without disconnecting the hoses, remove and position aside the radiator surge tank. - Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LCV) , or Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LGX without C69) , or Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LSY) , or Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LGX with C69)
- Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Master Cylinder Reservoir Front Pipe - Remove - Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Master Cylinder Reservoir Front Pipe Replacement
- Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Master Cylinder Reservoir Rear Pipe - Remove - Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Master Cylinder Reservoir Rear Pipe Replacement
- Thoroughly clean the electronic brake control module (EBCM) to brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) area of any accumulated dirt and debris.
- Disconnect the EBCM electrical connector.
- Left Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect
- Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Right Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect
- Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Right Rear Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect
- Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Left Rear Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect
- Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
- Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove
- Electronic Brake Control Module with Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Assembly (1) - Remove
- Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module Bracket - Remove - Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module Bracket Replacement
NOTE:
Label all the brake pipes to ensure they are re-installed in the correct ports of the brake pressure modulator valve.
