Component Testing

Liftgate Unlatch Switch

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S46B Liftgate Unlatch Switch.
  2. Test for infinite resistance between the signal terminal 1 and the low reference terminal 2 with the switch in the open position.
    • If less than infinite resistance

Replace the S46B Liftgate Unlatch Switch.

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance
  3. Test for less than 3 Ω between the signal terminal 1 and the low reference terminal 2 with the switch in the closed position.
    • If 3 Ω or greater

Replace the S46B Liftgate Unlatch Switch.

    • Go to next step: If less than 3 Ω
  4. All OK

Liftgate Close Switch

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B70 Liftgate Close Switch.
  2. Test for infinite resistance between the signal terminal 4 and the low reference terminal 3 with the switch in the open position.
    • If less than infinite resistance

Replace the B70 Liftgate Close Switch.

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance
  3. Test for less than 3 Ω between the signal terminal 4 and the low reference terminal 3 with the switch in the closed position.
    • If 3 Ω or greater

Replace the B70 Liftgate Close Switch.

    • Go to next step: If less than 3 Ω
  4. All OK

Interior Liftgate Control Switch

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S45B Liftgate Control Switch-Interior.
  2. Test for infinite resistance between the signal terminal 4 and the ground terminal 2 with the switch in the open position.
    • If less than infinite resistance

Replace the S45B Liftgate Control Switch-Interior.

    • Go to next step: If infinite resistance
  3. Test for less than 3 Ω between the signal terminal 4 and the ground terminal 2 with the switch in the closed position.
    • If 3 Ω or greater

Replace the S45B Liftgate Control Switch-Interior.

    • Go to next step: If less than 3 Ω
  4. All OK
