Removal Procedure
Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning .
Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution .
Always connect or disconnect the wiring harness connector from the EBCM/EBTCM with the ignition switch in the OFF position. Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the EBCM/EBTCM.
- Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
Radiator Surge Tank (1) - Remove - Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LYX without KL9) , or Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LTG LYX with KL9)
- Clean the area surrounding the EBCM/BPMV of any accumulated dirt and debris.
Electronic Brake Control Module Electrical Connector (1) - Disconnect
Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Secondary Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect
- Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Primary Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect
- Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Right Rear Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect
- Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Left Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect
- Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Right Front Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect
- Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Left Rear Brake Pipe Fitting (1) - Disconnect
- Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Bolt (1) - Remove
Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Nut (1) - Remove
Electronic Brake Control Module with Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (1) - Remove
Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bolt (1) - Remove
Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket (1) - Remove
The area around the electronic brake control module (EBCM) and brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) assembly must be free from loose dirt to prevent contamination of disassembled ABS components.
