Device Control Limits Exceeded Error

Device Control Limits Exceeded Error Description  Corrective Action 
System Currently Active Reason 
System has not exited active brake system during procedure.
Action Taken 
  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off - For greater than 5 s
  2. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode - For greater than 10 s
  3. Ensure brake pedal is fully returned.
Propulsion System Active Reason 
Engine control Module indicating Propulsion is active
Action Taken 
  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Open and close the door.
  3. Wait for greater than 2 min.
  4. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
Over temperature condition Reason 
Brake System Control Module overheated
Action Taken 
  1. Allow 20 min for Brake System Control Module to cool down.
Wheel Speed Detected Reason 
Any wheel speed sensor over 3kph (2mph)
Action Taken 
  1. Wheel Speed Sensors should be 0 when vehicle is not moving.
  2. Determine why Wheel Speed Sensor is greater than 0 when vehicle is not moving.
ABS Solenoid Valves or Pump Motor Timer Exceeded Reason 
Various tests have timed out
Action Taken 
  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off - For greater than 10 min
  2. Ensure system is filled and bled adequately with no leaks
  3. When performing learn procedures, follow the scan tool instructions
Voltage Out Of Range Reason 
Voltage at Brake System Control Module connector must be 8.5 - 16.8v
Action Taken 
  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Connect a battery charger to the battery.
  3. Inspect Brake System Control Module fuses and connector.
ABS Solenoid Valves or Pump Motor Malfunction Reason 
  1. There is a DTC set
  2. Learn procedures not completed
  3. Hydraulic Operation has not been enabled

Action Taken 
  1. If any DTC is set. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle
Brake Pedal Applied Reason 
Brake pedal applied
Action Taken 
  1. Remove foot from brake and ensure pedal is returned
  2. The Calculated Input Rod Position should not be greater than 0.3mm when brake pedal is returned.
  3. Determine why brake pedal is not returning.
Conditions Not Correct Reason 
Brake Fluid Level Sensor was not disconnected
Action Taken 
  1. Disconnect Brake Fluid Level Sensor connector.
  2. The DTC "C0049 Low Brake Fluid Level Sensor Circuit Open", will show if the Brake Fluid Level Sensor connector is disconnected.
