Circuit/System Testing
- Vehicle Off.
- Disconnect the electrical connector: A110 Charge Port Housing
- Connect a test lamp between the test points: Control circuit terminal X2-12 & Control circuit terminal X2-13
- Vehicle On
- Perform the scan tool control function: Battery Charger Coupler Lock - Open/Close
Verify the test lamp turns On.
- If the test lamp does not turn On
- Vehicle Off. Remove - Test Lamp
- Disconnect the electrical connector: K16A Battery Energy Control Module 1
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points:
- Control circuit terminal X2-13 @ Component harness & Ground
- Control circuit terminal X2-12 @ Component harness & Ground
- Control circuit terminal X2-13 @ Component harness & Control circuit terminal X2-12
- If less than infinite resistance - Repair the short to ground on the circuit or Short between the circuits
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- Test for less than 2 ohms between the test points:
- Control circuit terminal X2-13 @ Component harness & Terminal X2-18 @ Control module harness
- Control circuit terminal X2-12 @ Component harness & Terminal X2-17 @ Control module harness
- If 2 ohms or greater - Repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
- If less than 2 ohms - Replace the component: K16A Battery Energy Control Module 1
- If the test lamp turns On
Replace the component: X98 Battery Charger Coupler
