Repair Procedures: Removal

CAUTION:
  • When the solenoid valve Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) is on, perform the following procedure to replace it.
  • Automatic transmission is composed of delicate components. Be careful not to cause any damage on the component in the course of assembly and disassembly.
  • Maintain clean condition so that foreign substance does not get into the automatic transmission.
  • Use a coated apron, latex gloves, and stainless tray to prevent foreign substance from getting into the transmission.
  • Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) can be reused. Collect it using a clean 10-liter beaker.
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Remove the undercover. (Refer to ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER - "Engine mechanical system")
  3. Remove the E module connector (A).

  4. Perform automatic transmission fluid (ATF) drain and connect the drain plug.

    Tightening Torque: 

    22.6 - 24.5N.m (2.3 - 2.5 kgf.m, 16.6 - 18.1 lb-ft)

  5. Unscrew all oil fan mounting bolts except for the edge bolts (A).

    Tightening Torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.2 lb-ft)

  6. Fix it to the bottom of the oil fan using a jack (B) and unscrew two edge bolts (A). Then, remove the oil fan.
    NOTE:
    • Disconnect the oil fan (C) on the oil filter side and remove it.

  7. Unscrew the bolts and remove the valve body assembly (A).

    Tightening Torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)

  8. Place the valve body assembly in the oil fan.
  9. Unscrew the bolts and remove the E module (A).

    Tightening Torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)

    CAUTION:
    • After mounting the E-module, lightly tap the connector part (A) to insert the connector. Then, tighten the bolts.

  10. Remove the bolts (A) of the indirect control solenoid valve support bracket.

    Tightening Torque: 

    9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.2 lb-ft)

  11. Remove the indirect control solenoid valve support bracket (A).

  12. Remove the line pressure control solenoid valve (A).
