Repair Procedures: Removal
CAUTION:
- When Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) is on, perform the following procedure to replace it.
- Automatic transmission is composed of delicate components. Be careful not to cause any damage on the component in the course of assembly and disassembly.
- Maintain clean condition so that foreign substance does not get into the automatic transmission.
- Use a coated apron, latex gloves, and stainless tray to prevent foreign substance from getting into the transmission.
- Automatic transmission fluid (ATF) can be reused. Collect it using a clean 10-liter beaker.
- Place the vehicle on the lift and turn off the engine. Then, disconnect the battery (-) cable.
- Remove the undercover.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
- Remove the E module connector (A).
- Perform automatic transmission fluid (ATF) drain and connect the drain plug.
Tightening Torque:
22.6 - 24.5N.m (2.3 - 2.5 kgf.m, 16.6 - 18.1 lb-ft)
- Unscrew all oil fan mounting bolts except for the edge bolts (A).
Tightening Torque:
9.8 - 11.8N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.2 lb-ft)
- Fix it to the bottom of the oil fan using a jack (B) and unscrew two edge bolts (A). Then, remove the oil fan.NOTE:
- Disconnect the oil fan (C) on the oil filter side and remove it.
- Unscrew the bolts and remove the valve body assembly (A).
Tightening Torque:
9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)
- Place the valve body assembly in the oil fan.
- Unscrew the bolts and exchange the E module (A).
Tightening Torque:
9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft)
CAUTION:- After mounting the E-module, lightly tap the connector part (A) to insert the connector. Then, tighten the bolts.
