Repair Procedures: Removal

NOTE:

Prior to replacing the 4WD ECU, back up the 4WD ECU's clutch learing with the GDS tool.

(Refer to 4WD Control System - "REPAIR PROCEDURES ")

Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
Remove the crash pad lower panel.
(Refer to Body - "CRASH PAD LOWER PANEL ")
Remove the knee air back.
(Refer to Restraint - "KNEE AIRBAG (KAB) MODULE ")
Disconnect the AWD ECU connector (A).

Remove the AWD ECU bracket nut and then removing the AWD ECU (A).
Tightening torque:

9.8 - 11.8 N.m (1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 - 8.7 lb.ft)
