Control Relay (Tracker)

  1. Disconnect relay connector. Using an ohmmeter, place positive test lead of ohmmeter on relay terminal "B" and negative test lead of ohmmeter on relay terminal "D". See Fig 1 . Ensure there is continuity.
  2. Place positive test lead of ohmmeter on relay terminal "D" and negative test lead of ohmmeter on relay terminal "B". If continuity is present, replace relay.
  3. Check continuity between terminals "I" and "F", and then between "J" and "H". If continuity is not present, replace relay.
  4. Energize solenoid by applying battery voltage to terminal "B" and ground to terminal "D". Check for voltage at terminals "C" and "E". If battery voltage does not exist, replace control relay.
  5. Energize solenoid by applying battery voltage to terminal "F" and ground to terminal "I". Check for voltage at terminal "G". If battery voltage does not exist, replace control relay.
  6. Energize solenoid by applying battery voltage to terminal "H" and ground to terminal "J". Check for voltage at terminal "G". If battery voltage does not exist, replace control relay.
