Choke Valve

  1. Remove air cleaner. Note position of index on carburetor and choke cover. Carefully drill out choke cover rivets. Remove choke cover to ensure that thermostatic spring has contact with choke valve lever.
  2. Position choke cover and retainers on carburetor. With engine cold, adjust choke valve to desired position. Secure choke cover to carburetor with new rivets. Warm engine to operating temperature and recheck choke valve. If choke valve does not open completely, replace choke cover thermostatic spring assembly.
