Lack Of Power: Carbureted

Ensure engine has sufficient compression.
Verify choke valve is closed (engine cold).
Verify choke valve is open (engine hot).
Ensure fuel level is at specified mark on carburetor sight glass.
Verify fuel is dispensed at accelerator pump jets as throttle valve is opened.
Ensure fuel system pressure is correct.
Verify base timing is correct and that timing advance system is functional.
Check for excessive timing retard due to high level of carbon build-up.
Check EGR system operation.
Verify that throttle valve opens completely when accelerator pedal is fully applied.
Check for correct throttle position sensor resistance and adjustment.
Check transmission for correct downshift.
Check exhaust system for restriction.
