Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit (Storm GSi)

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect oxygen sensor connector. Turn ignition on. Using test light, check for voltage at White/Blue wire of sensor connector. If voltage is present, proceed to step 2). If no voltage is present, check for open in White/Blue wire from fuse block to oxygen sensor.
  2. Using test light connected to battery voltage, check for voltage at Black wire of electrical connector. If no voltage (path to ground) is present, check for open in Black wire from sensor to ground. If voltage is present, proceed to step 3).
  3. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between Black and White/Blue wire terminals at the oxygen sensor. Resistance should be from 3-14 ohms depending on temperature.
CAUTION: DO NOT check resistance on Light Blue wire or damage to oxygen sensor will result.
  4. If resistance is not within specification and does not vary with temperature, replace oxygen sensor. If resistance is okay and varies with temperature, heater portion of sensor is okay.
