Vehicle Speed Sensor ECU Code 11 (Storm GSi Only)

  1. Raise and support vehicle under lower control arms. Backprobe between Blue/Green and Blue/Yellow wires of ECU wires and note AC voltage with transaxle in Drive and speedometer reading of 20 MPH.
  2. If reading was greater than one volt, replace ECU. If reading was less than one volt proceed to step 3).
  3. Disconnect vehicle speed sensor at transaxle. Measure AC voltage across vehicle speed sensor terminals with transaxle in Drive and speedometer reading of 20 MPH. If reading was less than one volt, replace speed sensor. If reading was greater than one volt proceed to step 4).
  4. Disconnect 20-pin connector from ECU. Measure resistance between Blue/Green wire and ground. If continuity is present, repair short to ground in Blue/Green wire between vehicle speed sensor and ECU. If no continuity was present, proceed to step 5).
  5. Disconnect 20-pin connector from ECU. Measure resistance between Blue/Yellow wire and ground. If continuity is present, repair short to ground in Blue/Yellow wire between vehicle speed sensor and ECU. If no continuity was present, proceed to step 6).
  6. Disconnect 20-pin connector from ECU. Measure resistance between Blue/Green wire of ECU connector and Blue/Green wire of vehicle speed sensor wire. If resistance is greater than .3 ohms, repair open in Blue/Green wire between vehicle speed sensor and ECU. If resistance was less than .3 ohms, repair open in Blue/Yellow wire between vehicle speed sensor and ECU.
