Shift Indicator Light (Metro M/T Models)

  1. Turn ignition on and note shift indicator light. If light is off, proceed to step 3). If light is on, proceed to step 2).
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM, located under left side of dash. Turn ignition on and note shift light. If light is off, ECM is faulty. If light is on, check for short to ground in Light Blue wire between ECM and shift indicator light.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM. The ECM is located under left side of dash. Turn ignition on. Install jumper wire between Light Blue wire of ECM connector and ground.
  4. If light is on, check for defective connection at ECM or for faulty ECM. If light is off, check for defective bulb, open in power supply circuit to shift light, or open in Light Blue wire from light to ECM.
