Ignition Switch/Steering Lock: Removal
- Ignition switch is incorporated in steering lock assembly. Remove combination switch. See COMBINATION SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Turn ignition off. Depress retaining pin and remove lock cylinder.
- Disconnect electrical connector at ignition switch. Remove snap ring and spacer collar from steering shaft. Disconnect backdrive cable from ignition switch assembly on A/T models. Remove steering lock retaining bolts. Remove steering lock assembly.
NOTE:
Backdrive cable goes to transaxle and prevents transaxle shifting from Park unless ignition is in LOCK position.
