Chart A-5 - Fuel Injector & Circuit Check: Notes

When the solenoid coil of the injector is turned ON by the ECM it will activate the plunger and fuel under pressure will be ejected. The fuel pump will operate as long as the engine is cranking, and the ECM is receiving starter reference pulses.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.

Injector should operate when engine is cranked.
Test for an open between fuel injector connector and injector.
Checks for an open between ECM connector and injector connector.
Checks for defective injector or improper fuel pressure.
