Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Description and Operation

Shift Switch Position:

Located on the transmission, it turns "ON" when the select lever is in the park or neutral position. The ECM detects whether the transmission is in the park or neutral state, or in any other state through this "ON/OFF" signal. It is also used as one of the signals to control ISC solenoid valve and fuel injection time.
