Park/Neutral Switch

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect switch connector located under intake manifold. This is a round type connector containing 4 wires.
  2. Using ohmmeter check for continuity between specified wires with gearshift in proper location. See PARK/NEUTRAL SWITCH CONTINUITY table. Continuity should exist in these gears only.

Gear Position Wire Colors
Park or Neutral Black/Yellow & Black/Red
Reverse Red & Yellow
NOTE: For vehicle speed sensor, following procedure applies if Code 24 is stored in ECM or suspected incorrect input from vehicle speed sensor exists. Connector C1 (10-wire connector) is located on right corner of instrument cluster and C2 (12-wire connector) is located on left side of instrument cluster.
