Metro M/T

  1. Remove air cleaner. Disconnect electrical connector from throttle switch. Loosen throttle switch retaining screws. Insert a .024" (.61 mm) feeler gauge between throttle lever and stop screw. Connect ohmmeter between terminals "A" and "B" of throttle switch. See Fig 1 .
  2. Rotate throttle switch fully counterclockwise, then slowly rotate clockwise until ohmmeter indicates no continuity. Hold throttle switch and tighten retaining screws to 18 INCH lbs. (2 N.m). Remove feeler gauge.
  3. Insert a .035" (.89 mm) feeler gauge between throttle lever and stop screw. Ensure ohmmeter still indicates no continuity. Remove feeler gauge. Insert a .012" (.30 mm) feeler gauge between throttle lever and stop screw. Ensure continuity exists. Adjust throttle switch as necessary.
CAUTION: DO NOT use throttle stop screw to adjust throttle switch.
  4. To check proper throttle switch operation, check continuity with selected feeler gauge thickness between throttle lever and stop screw. See THROTTLE SWITCH CONTINUITY table.
  5. Once properly adjusted, reinstall electrical connector and install air cleaner.
