Metro M/T
- Remove air cleaner. Disconnect electrical connector from throttle switch. Loosen throttle switch retaining screws. Insert a .024" (.61 mm) feeler gauge between throttle lever and stop screw. Connect ohmmeter between terminals "A" and "B" of throttle switch. See Fig 1
.
- Rotate throttle switch fully counterclockwise, then slowly rotate clockwise until ohmmeter indicates no continuity. Hold throttle switch and tighten retaining screws to 18 INCH lbs. (2 N.m). Remove feeler gauge.
- Insert a .035" (.89 mm) feeler gauge between throttle lever and stop screw. Ensure ohmmeter still indicates no continuity. Remove feeler gauge. Insert a .012" (.30 mm) feeler gauge between throttle lever and stop screw. Ensure continuity exists. Adjust throttle switch as necessary.
CAUTION:
DO NOT use throttle stop screw to adjust throttle switch.
- To check proper throttle switch operation, check continuity with selected feeler gauge thickness between throttle lever and stop screw. See THROTTLE SWITCH CONTINUITY table.
- Once properly adjusted, reinstall electrical connector and install air cleaner.
