Chart A-3, Cranks But Won't Run, GSI: Notes
Ignition switch supplies voltage to ignitor located in right rear corner of engine compartment, on firewall. Crank angle sensor provides a reference signal to ECM and ignitor. ECM uses this reference signal to determine when to operate ignitor for ignition coil operation.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
- An open or defective fuse may cause a no-start condition.
- This checks for defective spark plug wires.
- This checks for defective fuel injectors.
- This determines if ignition coil is supplying spark to the distributor.
- This checks resistance between ignition coil terminals.
