Preliminary Inspection
Verify customer complaint by operating power window system. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage. Inspect for blown fuses and damaged relays. Check GAUGE Fuse (7.5-amp) by noting fuel and temperature gauge operation. Check that window main relay and window circuit breaker are securely mounted. Inspect for loose or corroded connections, damaged wiring harnesses and/or switches.
Check that grounds G200 and G306 are clean and tight. Check for a broken or partially broken wire inside insulation, which could cause system malfunction but prove good in a continuity/voltage check with system disconnected. Ensure any aftermarket electronic equipment is properly installed. If all Power Windows operate normally, but AUTO function does not work, replace window master switch. If fault is found, repair as necessary. If no fault is found, perform power windows system diagnosis. See POWER WINDOWS SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS under SYSTEM TESTS.
