Description & Operation
Steering columns are an energy-absorbing, collapsible design. Components include upper and lower column sections, steering shaft and universal joints which connect column and steering gear. Some models may have a tilt steering column.
WARNING:
Metro Convertible, Storm and Storm GSi are equipped with Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system. To prevent personal injury, disable system before attempting steering column service. Use caution when working around steering column (air bag could deploy).
