RWAL System Electrical Circuit Check

  1. Remove RWAL EBCM from under dash so rear of harness connector can be accessed with a DVOM. See RWAL ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION  .
  2. Check voltage at each terminal of connector under conditions described in RWAL EBCM PIN VOLTAGES table. See Figure .

1 Isolation Solenoid 0 During Normal Driving
10-15 During Hard Braking
2 BRAKE Warning Light 10-15 When BRAKE Light Is Off
0-3 When BRAKE Light Is On
3 4WD Signal 10-15 In 2WD
0-0.5 In 4WD
4 Valve Reset Switch 4-5 During Normal Driving
0-0.5 During Hard Braking
5 Not Used
6 Not Used
7 Diagnostic Test 3-5 When Terminal Is Open
0-0.5 When Terminal Is Grounded
8 Stoplight Switch 0-0.5 With Pedal Released
10-15 With Pedal Depressed
9 Dump Valve Solenoid 0 Normal Driving
10 Power Supply (Battery) 10-15 Normal Condition
12 Power Supply (Ignition) 10-15 With Ignition On
15 EBCM Ground 0 Normal Condition
16 & 17 Wheel Speed Sensor (1) 3.5 At About 20 MPH
