Brake Warning Light

As a bulb check, the BRAKE warning light will turn on when the ignition switch is turned to the BULB CHECK position. Light should go out when ignition switch is turned to the ON position. BRAKE light will also illuminate if parking brake lever is not fully released or if brake fluid level is low.

Should the RWAL system malfunction, RWAL EBCM will turn on the BRAKE warning light and disable the anti-lock function. BRAKE warning light is used to retrieve stored malfunction codes from RWAL system by jumpering appropriate terminals of diagnostic connector. See RETRIEVING CODES under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING  .
