Ignition Switch/Steering Lock: Removal
- Ignition switch is incorporated in steering lock assembly. Disable SIR system. Remove combination switch. See COMBINATION SWITCH . Insert key in ignition switch and turn ignition switch to OFF position. Depress retaining pin and remove lock cylinder.
- Disconnect electrical connector at ignition switch. Remove snap ring and spacer collar from steering shaft. Disconnect backdrive cable from ignition switch assembly (A/T models). Remove steering lock retaining bolts. Remove steering lock assembly.
NOTE:
Backdrive cable goes to transaxle and prevents transaxle from shifting from Park unless ignition switch is in LOCK position.
