Oxygen Sensor Heater (Storm GSi)

  1. With ignition off, disconnect 3-pin connector at oxygen sensor. Turn ignition on with engine off. Using voltmeter, check for battery voltage on Black/Yellow or Pink/Blue wire at connector. If battery voltage exists, go to step 3).
  2. If battery voltage does not exist, check for open circuit in Black/Yellow or Pink/Blue wire between oxygen sensor and 10-amp oxygen sensor fuse. Fuse is located in fuse/relay box, in left side of engine compartment, near battery.
  3. Start engine. Connect test light to battery voltage and backprobe Black wire of oxygen sensor connector. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, check for open circuit in Black ground wire.
  4. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between Black and Pink/Blue wires. Pink/Blue wire becomes Black/Yellow wire after connector. Resistance should be 3.5-14.0 ohms.
  5. If resistance is as specified, heater portion of oxygen sensor is okay. Replace oxygen sensor if resistance is not as specified.
