Vacuum Advance (Without ESC)

  1. Remove distributor cap. Disconnect vacuum hoses from vacuum advance unit on distributor. Using vacuum pump, apply 15 in. Hg of vacuum on outer vacuum advance unit while observing advance plate assembly.
  2. Advance plate assembly should operate with a smooth movement and vacuum should not bleed off. Repeat procedure on inner vacuum advance unit. If vacuum advance unit does not operate correctly, replace vacuum advance unit.
