Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor
- A malfunction in the intake air temperature sensor circuit will set a related diagnostic trouble code. For testing procedures, see TESTS W/CODES article in this section. An out-of-calibration IAT sensor may not set a diagnostic trouble code. Use following procedure to test sensor calibration.
- Remove intake air temperature sensor. See INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR LOCATION table. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance of intake air temperature sensor at designated temperatures. Replace IAT sensor if resistance is not within specification. See INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE (IAT) SENSOR RESISTANCE table.
