Wipers Operate At LO Speed; Switch in HI Position

  1. Turn ignition on. Backprobe wiper motor connector Blue wire terminal to ground. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, use a DVOM and measure resistance of Blue/Red wire. If more than 3 ohms are present, repair Blue/Red wire. If less than 3 ohms are present, replace wiper motor.
  2. Disconnect combination switch connector. Turn ignition on. Using test light, check Blue wire terminal at connector to ground. If test light does not come on, replace combination switch. If test light comes on, repair short to voltage in Blue wire between switch and wiper motor.
NOTE: The following procedure is used only on vehicles equipped with pulse (intermittent) wiper system.
