Throttle Position (TP) Sensor

NOTE: To identify TP sensor terminals, see Fig 1 .
THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR RESISTANCE (Tracker)

Between Terminals No. 1 & 2 (2) Infinity
Between Terminals No. 1 & 3 3500-6500
Between Terminals No. 1 & 4 (3)(5) 300-2000
Between Terminals No. 1 & 4 (4)(5) 2000-6500
TBI
Between Terminals No. 2 & 4 3500-6500
Between Terminals No. 3 & 4 (6) 0-500
Between Terminals No. 3 & 4 (7) Infinity
Between Terminals No. 4 & 5 (3)(5)(8) 300-2000
Between Terminals No. 4 & 5 (4)(5) 2000-6500
(1) With .020" (.51 mm) feeler gauge installed between throttle stop screw and lever.
(2) With .031" (.79 mm) feeler gauge installed between throttle stop screw and lever.
(3) Throttle valve at idle position.
(4) Throttle valve at fully open position.
(5) There should be more than 2000 ohms resistance in TP sensor between idle position and fully open position.
(6) With .012" (.30 mm) feeler gauge installed between throttle stop screw and lever.
(7) With .022" (.56 mm) feeler gauge installed between throttle stop screw and lever.
(8) When checking resistance at idle position, apply 19.7 in. Hg vacuum to throttle opener to move throttle valve to idle position.
