DTC A092 - Open Brake Switch When Abs Was Required: Notes

EBCM can determine proper operation of stoplight switch. This is important because ABS is activated when the stoplight switch is closed. If stoplight switch is open, ABS will never be activated. Since this malfunction is difficult to detect under normal braking conditions, this malfunction is only detected when ABS is required.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. Indicates if stoplight switch signal is being received by the EBCM.
  2. Indicates if an open circuit exists in the stoplight switch or the rear combination light circuitry.
  3. Isolates open circuit to either the stoplight switch input circuitry or the EBCM.
  4. Verifies voltage is available at the stoplight switch.
  5. Verifies the stoplight switch is functioning properly.
