Idle Speed & Ignition Timing

Ensure idle speed and base ignition timing are set to specification. See IDLE SPEED SPECIFICATIONS and IGNITION TIMING tables. If necessary, see ADJUSTMENTS article for adjustment procedures.

⁽¹⁾	Transaxle or transmission in Neutral or Park.

⁽²⁾	Idle speed is checked with scan tool connected to DLC and a jumper wire connected between duty check data link connector terminal No. 2 (Blue/Yellow wire) diagnostic request, and terminal No. 4 (Black wire) ground.

⁽³⁾	Idle speed should be 750-850 RPM in any gear.
