Manifold Absolute Pressure (Map) Sensor

For information on MAP sensor, see ENGINE SENSORS & SWITCHES in the SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS article.

OXYGEN SENSOR VOLTAGE RANGE

Application Voltage Output
O2S-1/HO2S-1 (1) 100-900 mV
HO2S-2 (2) 100-900 mV
(1) On front oxygen sensor, voltage output should be active and constantly fluctuate within voltage range. Front oxygen sensor measures oxygen content in exhaust gases before catalytic converter. With high oxygen content/lean mixture, voltage should be 100 mV. With low oxygen content/rich mixture, voltage should be 900 mV.
(2) On rear oxygen sensor, voltage output should be inactive or lazy within voltage range. Rear oxygen sensor measures oxygen content in exhaust gases after catalytic converter. PCM determines catalytic converter efficiency by comparing output from both oxygen sensors.
OXYGEN SENSOR HEATER RESISTANCE

Application Ohms
Metro & Firefly (Canadian) 11.7-15.6
THROTTLE POSITION (TP) SENSOR VOLTAGE

Application Volts
1.0L & 1.3L (1) .98-1.02
(1) Insert a .14" (3.5 mm) feeler gauge between throttle stop screw and throttle lever. If Idle Speed Control (ISC) motor plunger contacts throttle lever screw, bring engine to normal operating temperature. Using a Tech 1 scan tool connected to DLC, ensure TP sensor voltage is .98-1.02 volts. Adjust or replace TP sensor as necessary.
