Pick-Up Coil/Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor

Measure pick-up coil/CMP sensor air gap. If gap is not .008-.016" (.20-.40 mm), adjust or replace distributor. Check pick-up coil/CMP resistance. See PICK-UP COIL RESISTANCE  table.

PICK-UP COIL RESISTANCE (1) - OHMS

Application Ohms
Measured Between Terminals No. 1 & 2
Cold (2) 185-275
Hot (3) 240-325
(1) This may also be referred to as Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.
(2) Cold temperatures between 14-122°F (-10-50°C).
(3) Hot temperatures between 122-212°F (50-100°C).
