Circuit Tests: Notes

NOTE: Geo uses two types of diagnostic connectors. Duty check Data Link Connector (duty check DLC) and OBD-II Data Link Connector (DLC). In this article, duty check DLC refers to 23-pin diagnostic connector. Connector is located next to left strut tower in engine compartment. DLC refers to 16-pin diagnostic connector located under instrument panel used for scan tool hook-up.
NOTE: Ensure battery condition, cranking speed, and fuel quantity/quality are okay before performing CIRCUIT TESTS.

(1) Before using CIRCUIT TESTS, perform appropriate On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check circuit test to determine starting point. See the TESTS W/CODES article.

(3) With coolant temperature at 50-95°F (10-35°C).
(4) With coolant temperature below 50°F (10°C) or above 95°F (35°C).
