Hot Engine

  1. Jack up and support the front of vehicle. Remove air cleaner cover and element. Disconnect the hose from the main air jet solenoid valve and install a vacuum pump to the solenoid valve. Start the engine and accelerate to 10 MPH on manual transmission models or 15 MPH on automatic transmission models.
  2. Draw for vacuum. There should be no vacuum. If there is not, test is complete. If there is, check for voltage at main air jet solenoid valve Green wire. If there is voltage, go to COMPONENT TESTING  . If there is no voltage, replace the main air jet solenoid valve and retest.
