Cold Fast Idle Too High
- Check Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. See appropriate Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) in TESTS W/CODES article.
- Check fast idle thermo valve. See SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS article.
- Check idle speed adjustment. See ADJUSTMENTS article.
- Check throttle cable and then throttle body for sticking and binding.
