M/T model

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

    Are the back-up lights on when the shift lever is not in reverse position? 

    1. YES  -Inspect the back-up light switch.
    2. NO  -Go to step 2.
  2. Shift the transmission to reverse gear.

    Do the back-up lights come on ? 

    1. YES  -Go to step 3.
    2. NO  -Go to step  4.
  3. Measure voltage between ECM connector terminals B24and B20.

    Is there battery voltage ? 

    1. YES  -The back-up light switch signal is OK.
    2. NO  -Repair open in the wire between the ECM (B24) and the back-up light switch.
  4. Inspect the No. 27 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box.

    Is the fuse OK ? 

    1. YES  -Repair open in the wire between the back-up light switch and the No. 27 (7.5 A) fuse. Inspect the back-up light switch.
    2. NO  -Repair short in the wire between the ECM (B24) and the No. 27 (7.5 A) fuse. Replace the No. 27 (7.5 A) fuse.
