Low Fuel Indicator Test

  1. Do the fuel gauge sending unit test. See Fuel Gauge Sending Unit Test/Replacement .
    • If the system is OK, go to step 2.
    • If the system has any malfunction, repair it.
  2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II) with the float at the E (EMPTY) position.
    • If the low fuel indicator is on, go to step 3.
    • If the low fuel indicator is not on, refer to the low fuel indicator circuit diagram (see appropriate WIRING DIAGRAMS article ) and check the circuit.
  3. Move the float above the LOW position.
    • If the low fuel indicator goes off, the system is OK.
    • If the low fuel indicator is still on, refer to the low fuel indicator circuit diagram (see appropriate WIRING DIAGRAMS article )and check the circuit.
