- Relieve the fuel pressure (see FUEL PRESSURE RELIEVING
).
- Remove the intake manifold covers and the intake manifold (see Intake Manifold Removal and Installation
).
- Disconnect the connectors from the injectors (A).

- Disconnect the vacuum hose and fuel return hose from the fuel pressure regulator (B). Place a rag or a shop towel over the hoses before disconnecting them.
- Remove the bolts (C) from the fuel rail (D).
- Remove the fuel rail.
- Remove the injectors from the fuel rails.
- Slide new cushion rings (A) onto the fuel injectors (B).

- Coat the new O-rings (C) with clean engine oil, and put them on the injectors.
- Insert the injectors into the fuel rail (D).
- Coat new seal rings (E) with clean engine oil, and press them into the intake manifold.
- Install the fuel rail in the intake manifold.
- Install and tighten the bolts.
- Connect the vacuum hose and fuel return hose to the fuel pressure regulator.
- Install the connectors on the injectors.
- Install the intake manifold and the intake manifold cover (see Intake Manifold Removal and Installation
).
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II), but do not operate the starter. After the fuel pump runs for about 2 seconds, the fuel pressure in the fuel line rises. Repeat this two or three times, then check for fuel leakage.
