Test Equipment

All voltage tests should be performed with a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance, unless specifically stated differently in testing procedure. When instructed to use a jumper wire, ensure an in-line 5-amp fuse is included.

Use 2 Backprobe Sets (07SAZ-001000A) to probe Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connectors when directed by troubleshooting procedures. See Fig 1.

Engine compartment connectors are sealed on wire side of connector. Backprobing engine compartment connectors can cause damage to connector seals and possible connector terminal failure. To test wires, disconnect specified connector and touch tester probe to specified connector terminal. Inserting probe into connector terminal will damage terminal.
