Shift Lock Solenoid

  1. Access shift lock solenoid. See SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect shift lock solenoid harness connector. Note connector terminals and wire colors. See Fig 1 . Also see WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
    2. CAUTION: Battery voltage must be applied to correct shift lock solenoid terminal or diode inside shift lock solenoid will be damaged.
  2. Connect battery voltage to shift lock solenoid terminal No. 1 and momentarily connect solenoid terminal No. 2 to ground. Ensure shift lock releases when release lever is pushed and locks when release lever is released. Replace shift lock solenoid if solenoid does not operate properly.
