Park Pin Switch Test/Replacement

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, and the precautions and procedures in appropriate AIR BAG article under RESTRAINTS.

1. Remove the steering column covers (see STEERING COLUMN REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in appropriate STEERING COLUMN article in STEERING).
2. Disconnect the park pin switch connector.
3. Shift the shift lever into the P position, then check for continuity between the terminals No. 1 and No. 3. There should be no continuity.

4. Shift the shift lever out of the P position, and check for continuity between the terminals in step 3.
5. If the park pin switch is faulty, replace the control bracket assembly. (The park pin switch is not available separately.)
