Injector Replacement
- Relieve the fuel pressure (see
FUEL PRESSURE RELIEVING
).
- Remove the air cleaner (see
AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
).
- Remove the intake manifold (see
INTAKE MANIFOLD REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
).
- Disconnect the connectors (A) from the injectors (B), and remove the wire harness from the harness clips (C) from the fuel rail (D).

- Disconnect the quick-connect fittings (E).
- Remove the fuel rail bracket (F).
- Remove the fuel rail mounting nuts (G) from the fuel rail.
- Remove the injector clips (H) from the injectors.
- Remove the injectors from the fuel rail.
- Coat the new O-rings (A) with clean engine oil, then insert the injectors (B) into the fuel rail (C).

- Install the injector clips (D).
- To prevent damage to the O-rings, install the injectors in the fuel rail first, then install them in the cylinder head (E).
- Install the fuel rail mounting nuts (F). Install the fuel rail bracket (G).
- Connect the quick-connect fittings.
- Connect the injector connectors, and install the wire harness to the harness clips (H).
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II), but do not operate the starter. After the fuel pump runs for about 2 seconds, the fuel pressure in the fuel line rises. Repeat this two or three times, then check for fuel leakage.
- Install the intake manifold (see
INSTALLATION
).
- Install the air cleaner (see
AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
).
- Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
- Clear any DTCs with the HDS.
