Cable Reel Subharness Replacement

SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ), and the precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or service.

1. Remove the steering wheel (see STEERING WHEEL REMOVAL ).
2. Remove the four screws (A) securing the steering wheel rear cover (B), then remove the steering wheel rear cover.

3. Remove the paddle shifter + (upshift switch) connector from its holder, and disconnect the connector.
4. Remove the screw (C) securing the paddle shifter + (D), and remove the paddle shifter +.
5. Remove the cruise control switch (E), and disconnect its connector.
6. Remove the paddle shifter - (downshift switch) connector (A) from its holder, and disconnect the connector.

7. Remove the harness guide (B) and the cable reel subharness (C), and separate the harness from the guide.
8. Replace the cable reel subharness, and install the new harness on the harness guide.
9. Install the harness guide on the steering wheel.
10. Install the cruise control switch on the steering wheel.
11. Install the paddle shifter + on the steering wheel, and secure it with the screw.
12. Connect the all connectors securely, and install the paddle shifter connectors in the connector holder.
13. Install the steering wheel rear cover, and secure the rear cover with the four screws.
14. Install the steering wheel (see STEERING WHEEL INSTALLATION ).
